Harry, Colin and Ben
a ghost story

This story happened a long time ago.
Once there was an old castle. Some people are saying, it should be spooky there. The town wanted to build a big hotel there. But of course, nobody wanted to live in a haunted house. So the town paid everybody, who had proof, that the castle wasn’t haunted, 1000 €. So there were three people. All of them wanted to collect evidence, that there wasn’t any ghost. They knocked at the door. Someone screamed. Suddenly the door opened. The house was dark and scary. The three people went in. The door closed itself. Then there was an lightening outside. The three people could see something now. They were in a big hall. At the other side there was a stair. There was no trespassing. Suddenly there was a terrible laugh. A very big table flew down next to them. The group jumped away. The three people were frightened. They wanted to go to the left side. But suddenly a cold hand touched them. They screamed. But nobody was behind them. They could see a stair. It went down. Then they went to the right side. There was a big, thick door. It was closed, but it wasn’t locked. They opened the door. There was a small study. In the study there was a desk and a bookshelf. On the desk there lay paper. “Go away or you’ll be my dinner today!”, they read. “Let’s go away!”, Ben said. “No we can’t do that”, Colin answered, “do you know, how many money 1000 € is?” Then Harry said: “Look at this bookshelf. When you move this boo, then there’s a hole behind it.” “Yes, you’re right!”, Colin and Ben answered. Harry put his hand into the hole. He felt a button. “There’s a button. Shall I press it?”, Harry asked. “Yes!”, Ben answered. Harry pressed the button. The three people were frightened. Suddenly there was a loud BANG!!! and the door went to the left side. They found a small way. It went down. Ben, Colin and Harry went in. They heard scary noises. There were many spiders, snakes and mice, too. After one hundret metre they saw a door. There were bones on it. They opened the door and found lots of skeletons. As the three people went in, the skeletons moved next to them. Then they stopped. A dangerous, frightened, scary and terrible voice whispered: “Go away! Go away! Go away!” “No!”, Colin said and ran through the skeletons to the other side of the cellar. Ben and Harry followed him. They opened the door. There were stairs. They went upstairs and stood in the big hall again. But the big door was opened now. “Why is the door opened now?”, Harry asked. “I don’t know”, Ben answered. “I think I know why!”, Colin said, “Perhaps that scary voice still wants us to go. But we won’t go!” And he was right! They heard the voice again. “Go away!”, it said. “No!”, Harry said and closed the door. “When you think so!”, the voice answered. A light turned on. The group turned around. “Look! We can go upstairs now!”, Ben said. “You’re right”, Colin said, “Then let’s go upstairs!”, Harry said. The three people went upstairs. “I think that was a bad idea. What if it’s a trick?”, Ben asked. “You’re silly. Why should it be a trick? Come on! There’s the door! Let’s go!”, Harry answered. The boys went onto the stairs. “Look!”, Colin said, “The stair is changing into a slide!” “Help!”, the tree people screamed. Then there was a laugh. “Shut up!”, Harry said and it was quiet. Then Ben whispered something. After that Colin said loudly: “Oh. It’s so scary. I’m frightened. Let’s go.” “That’s a very good idea”, the voice answered. Suddenly the group turned around and ran upstairs. “You’re so bitchy!”, the voice said. The group opened the door. There was an empty room. Suddenly they heard: Spooky, terrible effect is starting!” A light turned on and off. “Look! It’s from this lamp. And the lamp has the power out of this small hole. And the hole is going to the same place where this secret door is going to.”, Harry said. Ben said: ”And the ghosts are moving with an engine. They’re white and out of wood.” “Let’s open the secret door”, Colin said. Behind the door there was a big room. Many people were there. It looked like an airport there. Everywhere were computers, TVs, micros, keypads, buttons and so on. “We know what you’re doing. The game is over now”, the children said. “Ok, you won”, a man said. “We don’t want the castle to be changed into a hotel. We’re a tennis club and we always had parties here when we won”, another man said. “Well, we will say, the castle still is spooky”, Harry said. “You’re so nice. Thank you!”, the club said.
